$F=k\frac{|q_1{q}_2|}{r^2}$, with $k=8.99\times 10^9\mathrm{N}{\mathrm{m}}^2/{\mathrm{C}}^2$. The force grows rapidly as the charges approach ($1/r^2$).

What to observe

• The left pair accelerates more and more as it closes in.
• The right pair moves apart, slowing down.

Try this

• Fix one charge and give the other a sideways velocity to make it orbit.
