Hydrostatic Pressure vs. Depth (Stevin’s Law)

Theory

Hydrostatic pressure: . Pressure depends only on depth and density — not on the container’s shape. Every 10 m of water adds about 1 atm.

What to observe

  • At the same depth, the denser liquid gives a higher pressure.

Try this

  • Drag the sensors up and down.
  • Change gravity.
